IT'S TIME TO GET PACKING WITH SHEILA'S ULTIMATE BEACH ESSENTIALS LIST
Whether your holiday countdown is on its final stretch, or the summer is just around your corner, one thing is for certain: the good times are on their way. But before you put on your swimsuit, unfurl your towel and dash into the waves, there are a few essentials you need to get sorted to in order to live your best summer life. Let’s dive in.
1. The all-mighty: sunscreen.
We've heard it a million times, but for good reason: sunscreen is a skin-saviour. Whether you're laying on the beach, bum up, or taking a drive up the coast, the sun can always reach you. If you're planning on spending your days soaking in those rays, or simply vibing outdoors, safeguarding your skin is a must. Opt for SPF 30+ or 50+ to protect from sunburn and sun damage, and make sure you get into all your nooks and crannies. Trust us. You’d rather people not know you missed a spot.
2. Hydration, hydration, hydration.
Feeling parched? Not on our watch. There's nothing worse than sitting by the beach and realising the salty ocean won't quench your thirst. So pack a reusable water bottle (like the Frank Green Ceramic Reusable Bottle) and toss in some ice blocks for good measure. Remember, by the time you feel thirsty, your body is already dehydrated. So, drink up and stay ahead of the curve.
3. Confidently comfortable swimwear.
No matter where your summer destination is, you deserve to feel confident, comfortable, and completely yourself. Whether a more modest swimsuit like our Mina One Piece makes you feel your best, or you prefer to mix and match like with our Nellie Scoop Bikini Top and Alyssa Mid Swim Short (AKA board shorts for women) your swimwear should empower you to do whatever you please. Whether that's jumping into the water or leaving your trail behind on the sand, your swimsuit should support you, not stop you.
4. Versatile cover-ups.
If you’re trying to pack light, you’re in luck. Our one-piece swimwear can take you from morning to arvo, brunch to beach, no change of clothes required. But, if you anticipate a cool breeze, consider packing a cover-up like an oversized shirt to keep you warm and covered. Or, if you prefer a bikini style like our Sia Triangle Bikini Top and our Grace Mini Swim Short (perfect for high-waisted bikini lovers), try a maxi dress or skirt—something that feels easy and effortless.
5. Wide-brimmed hats.
No hat, no play? There's a reason for that rule. While nobody will scold you for leaving your hat behind, you'll definitely regret not bringing one along. Not only do they add a touch of elegance to your beach attire, but they also provide much needed protection for your face and neck. After all, nothing's worse than attempting to relax on the beach while the sun blinds your vision.
6. Speaking of eyes: UV-protective sunnies.
Don’t let the sun block your sights. Having your favourite pair of sunglasses on hand will shield you from squinting, burning, and resorting to awkward hand salutes to block the sun's rays. Not only do sunglasses add a touch of glamour to your summer style, they also safeguard your eyes from harmful UV rays. Remember, if you can't find them, check the top of your head.
7. Beach tote bags.
Stay organised and stylish with a roomy beach tote bag. Choose a bag that can accommodate all your beach essentials, including size inclusive swimwear (obviously), sunscreen, towel, water bottle, a Sheila Logo Tee, and your favourite summer read.
Summer is all about embracing the warmth, joy, and freedom that the season brings. With these handpicked summer essentials, you can confidently dive into the season, knowing that you're fully equipped to make the most of every sun-soaked moment.
